What I did was to use a neck that felt good to me and use that as a baseline. I took measurements at different places on the neck and increased them, figuring I can always take more wood off if needed. It turned out that for me a neck that was as wide as a 12 string Martin at the nut, 1 13/16inch, was just the ticket. I used a 24 3/4 fret scale to compensate for the extra width and it feels great. Everyone that's tried it prefers it over the slimmer necks. I would think you could find dimensions for different manufactures online, if that's what your looking for, then modify the dimensions to suite your hands. Hope that helpsMike

Hey Driftit, there was once a site called Fretfind that had a program where you could give a total length, nut width, bridge width, 4 to 12 strings, blah, blah,, and it spat out the scale positions for each fret.
Not sure if its still up and running but it might be worth a look see.
And yeah, there are a few neck plans kicking around on the net. Just Google neck plans, scale and that sort of thing,,, should pop up something usefull.
If not, dont worry. Theres sure to be someone with some good plans at hand.
Copying another prefab neck is also a good idea cause then you have a finished model to work with and check yours against
