    Default Hornbeam Fretboard

Hi all, Recently I purchased some hornbeam timber with a view of making some fretboards from this timber. Up till then I had never even heard of hornbeam timber. It's a very hard timber and very true grained, beautiful to work with. Googling about in Luthier sites I come across a custom made guitar in the USA selling for in excess of US 4 grand and it happened to have a hornbeam fretboard. The site described the timber as "..."...more mid focus than maple, hard like ebony..."

A while ago somewhere on this site I put up a jig I made to cut fretboard slots. Since then I have now made two more versions of it, now up to Fretboard Slot Cutter Mark 111. My latest one is extremely precise.

I realise most on here make their own guitars, but if there is anyone looking to purchase a pre cut/slotted fretboard LP scale length I decided to try and sell a few. I put them on ebay if anyone is interested in looking.

This is the link and here is a pic of the horbeam fretboard.
