What jig saw is this...?
In Martin Koch's dvd he trims the neck blank using a jig saw that has one side of the base travelling along the fingerboard and the other side travelling along the (soon to be) off cut of thew neck.
That is on side of the jig saw base is at 6.5mm higher than the other.
It's not tilted but straight up & down - split level base.
I've asked a couple of retailers but they glaze over & look for an escape route...
Can anyone one tell me what the 'feature' of a split level base is called in techno talk or even the make & model of the jig saw?
Thanks

G'day Fanlee,
Could you post the name of the video, please. I have one of his books and there is only one image of a jigsaw that I could find. It appears to be a Fein.
Cheers,
James

Yeh i dont know, i had a look at the vid, and to me it just looks like an old flat base B&D to me. But it is hard to tell, i could be wrong.

I don't see why it is so important to have this very same jigsaw when it is just as easy to use double-sided tape and tape the correct thickness shim under one side of the foot. There you have it.
Change the shim size for whatever application you have.
6.5mm could be an offcut from the fretboard you're trimming to etc......
And you can use whatever jigsaw you want too.
