This guitar is my first fixed bridge and first bolt on neck. It's a dovetailed bolt on neck, not by design but at the eleventh hour, future neck adjustment seemed a good idea for a flat top. I'll continue to dovetail archtops and mandolins.
The body has been made more curvy because after making a few archtops I like guitars that way now. Also I want to use this mold to make a 15in archie.
I made the soundhole purfs straight and had some strife bending after. The next ones will be laminated on a form.
top ....redwood
back and sides ... silky oak
neck .... mahogany / silver ash
fb / head veneer.... solomon blackwood
binding ............. qld. walnut, silky oakCheers, Bill

Nice Gat Bill...really tidy work. The instrument has what I like in a guitar..neat and simple lines.
LOL.....that headstock is a dead ringer for the one I just spent 3 days designing for my current build....a multiscale Gore-style falcate braced OM.Whatever note you blow youre never more than a semitone away from the correct one....(Miles Davis)

Thanks for commenting fellas.
Martin, I have sort of settled in with this headstock profile for the moment. It's a Benedetto / stewmac A style mando based design. I would like to go back and change a guitar and a mando but most likely won't.Cheers, Bill

Very pretty, I like the contrasts with the binding. Great work!

Thanks for looking and commenting Sebastiaan.
A side note, this could be separate topic. I just fitted a Symour Duncan " Acoustic Tube " soundhole pickup. I'm pretty happy with it. It's designed for phosphor bronze strings and an acoustic amp. A preamp makes a big difference. It takes about 1 min to shift to another guitar. The downside is a messy wire and the jack is swinging in the breeze. I am going to try a rubber self stick clip to hold the jack.
The piezo systems have come a long way and I have used them before. Some of my favoites , Lyle Lovett, Justin Townes Earl and Pokey La Farge ( when he plays a flat top ) all use soundhole pickups. I don't know if those setups are just soundhole pickups alone or in conjunction with something else.Cheers, Bill

Lovely Guitar Bill . I reckon silky oak is a great choice for an acoustic build .

Cheers Rob, I able to cut enough silk oak back and side sets to keep me going for awhile. I also scored a lump of Q/S old redwood 75mm x 290mm x 1.8 m.
Cheers, Bill
