Default Outjack socket cavity within electronics cavity in solid body guitar.

    Hi all,

Finally getting around to working on the body/s for a couple of necks I made earlier this year. I've routered out the electronics cavity. Surely there must be an easy way to bore out the cavity for the outjack socket as the thread is never long enough to poke through to the outside and beyond the chrome plate.

Trying to drill sideways within the electronics cavity is a real pain, any suggestions,.?

    Regards, Paul

What kind of socket are you using? Got a pic of the situation? I'm slightly confused about what you're trying to achieve. If you're using a standard square or oval chrome plate on a solidbody the whole socket and plate assembly goes into/over a 1" hole drilled from the outside

    Hey there Dpm,

Silly me, what was I thinking. I had this notion that the thread protruded through a hole in the outer edge, of course your right. I just measured my chrome plate and the smaller side is about 28mm in width.

Must be brain dead here, thanks again,

    Regards, Paul

Not a problem Paul, it's often the obvious solution that we miss
