OK, here is a bit of progress. There is not much left to do, a few more holes need to be drilled, and a lot of sanding.
Full Body shot.
Full body again
Tasty neck
Neck shot two.
First pickup
Really looking forward to painting this axe.

It's coming along great Deano... I'm loving seeing your pics as you go. Very inspiring I have to say. I'd have my own thread going too, if I had the time to get to some timber suppliers and get something for chipping. I'm in no rush though.
I'm still hanging out to see some nice high resolution pics of that neck though. Looks fantastic (what's the depth under the first fret btw? it looks like a fairly deep profile, like an old Les Paul or something). And one more question, what radius did you do your fretboard?
Looking good all the way mate. Keep the pics coming!

That's absolutely inspiring. The guitars that people from this forum are amazing, and that's a prime example. When it's finished, stack it up with the guitars you find on the top rack in a guitar store and yours won't look out of place. Byoooootiful
I gotta haul my rear downstairs these days off and start making some progress.

Deano has done a great job putting this one together.
He's persevered through trying times and learnt a heap in the process.
Now it's onto the next stage.
Grainfill will start tomorrow or Wednesday, all depends on how smooth
Deano's got it.
Then it's white shellac sealer, grainfill, white shellac, then
into the nitro. (sorry old picker!!) Stay tuned !!!
cheers, Stu

no lightin up fags while you can smell nitro thats for sure
you'll take a very fast trip through the nearest wall
that stuff is pretty flammable
you gotta have special fans to blow out a booth set up for nitro so sparks from the motor dont get at itray c
dunno what's more fun, buyin' the tools or usin' em'

Started painting last night! Stu (Oz tradie) is teaching/helping me how to do ripper Nitro finishes.
Yesterday I went around to his shop and we set up to apply a few coats of blonde shellac.
We applied two coats and let it dry under heater lights; we then mixed up a mixture of sloppy Timbermate and sealed the whole guitar. After a quick sand we applied a further two coats.

Thats all for now guys,
