    Question Can this be Repaired

    G'day Guys

My neighbour's grandson had his guitar knocked over by his sister, his own fault for leaving it laying around in the house, with a lead trailing across the floor rather than on its stand in the den.

Anyway pics as follows and if it can be repaired, can anyone here do it and what sort of cost they'd be looking at?

I have the guitar here at my place if you want better pics or from different angles etc.
    Cheers

    Superglue?

Seriously, it looks as though the whole neck and fingerboard would have to be replaced.

Yes I agree with rhoads56, there is no reason why any competent guitar repairer being able to fix the broken headstock. I am a guitar repairer and I also build electric and acoustic guitars, unfortunately I live in Adelaide.

That's a very common break for that style of neck and can be repaired quite easily for someone who knows what they are doing -

    Some examples here -

Greg can fix it - Don's '57 Special - My Les Paul Forums

Hi Acco, post a thread in the musical instruments and I'm sure there would be some one not too far from you in the Melbourne metro area.

Hi Acco, try Upwey Music. There web site is upweymusic.com.au
Have a look at there web site, they are probably the closest repairer to you. I personally do not know any one at this business. Have a chat to them first before getting them to repair the guitar. All I did was using google search to find a repairer who would be the closest to you.

If you want to try it yourself, here is a link to a repair of pretty much the exact same break on a banjo

    FRETS.COM
The other day I described to my daughter how to find something in the garage by saying "It's right near my big saw". A few minutes later she came back to ask: "Do you mean the black one, the green one, or the blue one?".

    Thank you but no thanks.
It's not mine and I have no finishing equipment to spray it with.

As I said in my first post, it belongs to neighbour's grandson and they wanted to know if it could be repaired and an idea of what it would cost to get repaired. So I have a yes to say it can be repaired but not any indication of cost yet.

Anyone want to offer any estimates of cost?
    Cheers
