Are you going to reshape that headstock? It looks a bit to classical / traditional against the stark BC Rich shaped body.

Looks great mate. The neck looks really good quality too..
I agree with Dad about reshaping the headstock but.. Definately doesnt suit the body.

Yeah i bought it with the idea to scoop out the end abit to go with the horns look, but it's really made well and I'm worried I'll butcher it now.

Nahhh ... go for it. Make a router template if you're not confident.
I've used ready made necks on my three builds so far and re-shaped the headstock to suit the body ... see below. The first one is the BC Rich inspired build that we did ... then my daughter's build ... then my tribute to Andy B build (actually ... my youngest son is Andrew).
Take your time and you can't go too far wrong.
I'll expect to see you back here shortly with some headstock designs for us to vote on

Well goes to show why people say measure twice cut once. Just checked the scale length on my neck and realised that the bridge needs to be within an inch on the lowest point beneath the neck. So instead of a floyd i am gunna have to find a combination bridge/stop piece. Unless anyone has any other ideas. I don't think a bridge and ferrules will fit.
On the other hand i've reshaped the head and just sanding the final shape now. Glad I did it too cus it goes with the body alot more.

Our first build was a similar style to this one and I had to re-do my drawings several times to make a trem fit.
Have you routed the neck pocket yet? Looking at your last picture, there's plenty of meat near the horns so you could afford to take the neck back a bit.
It looks like you could come back about three frets which would give you a little more room to play with. That might give you enough space to squeeze in a tune-o-matic with string throughs.

I can just squeeze some ferrules in but id say it would be rather close to the edge. I'm gunna just think about it for awhile.

So you'd be building something like this or slightly different? Did you find that neck you were after?

The plan was similar but in comparison my body stops about where the deep route for the weight block for the floyd goes.

I'm thinking i may be able to just fit a strat hard tail bridge in there. Anyone got the average spacing from the saddle seat to the back of the whole piece?

depends which hardtail your get....
theres one with a larger base with a screw in each corner...
and theres one with a small base that isnt much bigger than the saddles.... has 3 screws along the back....
the larger one is about hmm 3cm from the front of the saddle to the back of the base plate (with the intonation adjust screw screwed in so you just see the end of it on the inside of the saddle..... then again they may all be different....) ... (give or take a few mm due to intonation ofcourse...)
