Has been sanded, and sanded, and sanded. I am sick of sanding. Stained body and neck and finally i am starting on the clear coats. Satin finish on neck and body cus it feels nice on all the test pieces i did. Gunna take awhile to build up coats but i will happily take my time still.

Has been suggested i need a pin stripe to break up the lines so may look a little different before it's done.

Red with a little water, about 3/4 dye to 1/4 water. And lots and lots and lots of coats after sanding back the first. I applied it with a sponge brush and didn't wipe of the excess, just let it soak in. I think in all there is probably 4-6 coats?

The neck was even lighter so i did close to 10 coats probably til they matched. And with a single coat of estapol both have gotten heaps darker, but pics are before the estapol.

I have put at least 6 layers of estapol on it and just now bumped it slightly with my drill, causing a mark. Is estapol always gunna be that thin or should i layer up some more?

Well it's basically all done now. Just have to find some decent knobs and attach the truss rod cover. Oiled up the fret board today so my room smells lemony fresh
The electronics where probably the hardest part but only because they were so fiddly. Hopefully in the future ill give it a rub down and get it covered in 2 pack poly.

Definitely one of the coolest things I've done in my spare time. Thanks for the help and encouraging words guys. Only problem is after seeing some of the ones you guys are putting out I think I'll have to make another one soon.

That's the way we do things around here ... dish out a little bit of encouragement and then BAM!!! ... you're an addict just like the rest of us.

    Looks great ... well done.
