I think a router table built into the bench is a good idea. But still i would prefer something mobile. Ill do some more research on benchtop router tables, and see what happens.
Anyone got some pictures of there router tables?.
I've gone through pages and pages of router tables on the forums..
But I want to see moreDeano

the carbatec you picked out 1st looks pretty good for the money
the iron one with the tenon attachmnt is also a good one which i was close to buying but didnt becaues it was too deep front to back for my tiny workspace
thats prolly the pick of the carbatec lot cept for its fixed fence
its not rocket science building one but what do you want top do
build a gutar next or a router table
the one i want is the cmt at $995.00ray c
dunno what's more fun, buyin' the tools or usin' em'

It looks from the pictures on the Carbatec site that the drill press we are discussing has changed. Mine has a solid square table and a big clamp for the post. It is very solid. In the pic and from previous comments it seems to now have a possibly smaller round table. If thats the case i can't say what the new ones are like.

I bought one from these guys ...mainly because of my budget ..but it seems to do the job..

In hindsight a bigger throat depth would be better and the smallish round table is a bit of a pain...
But I have built a table with a fench that I clamp to it so i can use it with the safe-t-planer and it does a good job
I haven't had any issues with it and for the price they are a pretty handy tool..I use mine for thicknessing , drilling and use sanding drums

Hey Stu,
THE LINK
The table I'm contemplating is similar or the same to Rays. You have seen rays, and its a great setup, and the quality is worth while!
The top is the Pro router table top this still requires the router plate, legs and fence. Not many pics on the website, but from what I've seen and read they look a treat! I'm planning on building a base for the top similar to the carba-tec router discussed earlier in the thread.
Exciting stuff, just a few more weeksDeano

you want the phenolic insert and the woodpecker fence - but get the higher fence with the T track - one of the wood pecker fence boards on mine got a swelling on it - r00ted - i use the tall fence with the T track
