More ukuleles on the bench
The body still needs a heap of finishing, many layers to go the grain still needs filling. I’m starting to feel like the karate kid, wax on wax off grasshopper

Thanks Eugene, and I can guarantee you I have no clue how to play it! I need my children to teach me! Now it’s built I will spend some serious time on learning how to play it. That is, in between a kitchen renovation that I am about to undertake and getting back to work after three weeks off (not looking forward to waking at 2:30am again!)

Hey Cal, that is amazing, totally superb. That would be worth a fine penny or two. A woman down the road got me to repair a crack in the back of one of her ukeles. She told me she had two others, one she paid $1400 for and the other $2,000. I had no idea ukeles could cost that much.

Thanks Paul, at this stage I’m still trying to put into practice what I learn from each build I do. I wouldn’t even know how to price them to sell, I think that I need to get a few more under my belt and find some people that are able to give me their honest opinions about how they sound and what to change or improve on. I have a friend who plays all sorts of string instruments who played this one today and he was complimentary about it, which is great.
I know I have a lot to learn still and would love to take classes in luthery, that will be down the track though.
Check out Barron River ukuleles, Allan lives up in Cairns and his average price is $2500 +++, works of art though and much better timber than I use.
