    Default A woodworkers CBG

    Hi,
The trouble with CBGs is as soon as you show them to people they want one. Also when you have had success with a first one you just cant resist making more. I had ordered a gigar box to make one for somebody and while rummaging the shed for wood to make a neck I looked at a chisel box. It looked better made than a cigar box and had a nice sound when tapped. I also have a much larger box that turning chisels came in but it would be a bit unwealdy for a guitar. Perhaps a dulcimar one day.
Anyhow it is frettless 3 string slide tuned open G. I have not glued the box shut yet as it sounds ok and I am mulling over the idea of a second interchangeable fretted neck. Now all I have to do is learn to play slide and build that guys CBG.
    Regards
    John

Well done! I bet you have half a dozen planned in your head.

(Another poor sucker, watch the tonewood vendors circle, the players wanting free instruments, etc, etc)

Seriously mate welcome to the obsession.
