This getting old is a bit of a pain.I drew the front cross member in cad program and cut on water jet at work. Today i cut out the radiator and headlights that i drew in cad program but after getting home tonight and trying ive made modification to radiator and hopefully cut tomorrow and start putting together tomorrow nite.
That's one hell of a workshop you must have Scotty,
as well as being able to use all the hi-tech toys.....

They do help a great deal,not sure what i"d do without them. Today cut out the radiator surround on waterjet and got mesh adhered to one side.

Yes Harry rats are cool, tonight i got the mesh fixed to the other half of radiator and cut out strip and welded the 2 halfs of the radiator together. I then decided too cutout and mount V8 logo on front of radiator. Next i started on one of the headlights got it all fabed up and ready to go.
Tonight got home and finished off the other headlight. Then started on the chassic getting it all squared up and welded together. Once welded i ground down all the welds.
Looks great! Can't wait to see the finished product. :)

Today got home and had a rumage through my metal bin and found the perfect size metal for the front springs. After cutting and bending them to near the same shape welded a bottom braket to the chassis then drilled and bolted the spring to it, then drilled and pinned the spring together, then drilled and bolt to front axle.
Today i got the headlights mounted the the front drag link arms. Still have to mount on chassis yet, then i got the engine mounts cut and welded in position. Next ill look at the diff.

The Waterjet is a fantastic peice of machinery, the things you can do with it. I have 2 at work one a chinese pump rated at 300mpa 50,000 psi and americian pump 380mpa 55,000 to 60,000psi. they have improved the it a 450mpa 70.000 psi but i read the other day that there up to 100,000 psi now. The 380 is spose to cut 100mm steel, so far its cut everything that ive put in front of it. Even the accruacy is spot on.
Tonight i fabricated the gearbox looking at what metal i had and how i could get it done. Doing this with no plans or scale is quite a challenge but im really enjoying this.

I had been impressed with your rod but now I'm in awe of your efforts;
though as you said the "ubeaut" machinery makes it easy to be accurate.

Yes its all from the head, i get a lot of ideas looking a pics from the web and combining the ones i like. I mainly look to see what material i have and where i can use it,but other times its what i want to do then look for what i need to make it. Im trying to build with material i have or get for free, so far i had to pay for the rims and chassis bar the rest is scraps. A metal lathe would be so handy but will make do with what i got. Tonight i worked on the gearbox some more buy making up the starter motor and mount ,then forming up some linkages for the side of the box, then making up the gear shift and linkage on top of the box.
