Looks like your only option is the JB Gaz.

I wouldn't touch it with a mig or brazing rods, that casting will just go snap crackle and pop and make a bigger mess. Not to mention the counter shaft...

Well it's out with inches to spare. Just hope it goes back on the dollies as easy as it came off. Off to its new home tomorrow, a real shed.

Yep, wouldn't touch an E-TEC. The advantage of the optis would be if you do alot of hours service costs would be cheaper.

I have been thinking of mounting the tabs using 100x10 flat bar as a doubler with tapped threads and also installing a flat anode across the top. The stainless tabs will have a divider of HDPE...

Leaning towards these 2 at the moment.

The boat is at weld out stage now. The bulk of the hull is tacked together first to lock it in before any real heat is applied.

Had to lift the mig higher on the stand to clear the gunnel's of the boat. Stand was originally made to suit a 4.8 mtr plate alloy kit.
Welder now sits 1600mm off the ground.

Most stuff on the boat is below 150amps. I use a foot pedal so its normally just full pedal to start. The bit of 6mm I did the other day was pushed up to 180amps but wasn't a problem for the short...

I just have a 15amp circuit protected by a 16amp rcd/mcb combo. Havn't had any trouble with it tripping. Just make sure you use a current limiting device rated to the lowest rated fittings you use.

Wont work. They would be keyed different so you cant plug single phase into 3.

You'll also need to have some current limiting device in there somewhere on the second example.

Use 5356 wire Gazza, its better suited to what material you'll be welding. So is 5183 but it normally costs more.
I think Karl meant use a bendable grade of 4mm such as 5005/5052? 5083 grade plate...
