I have not posted here for a while. Life has been busy. My carving focus has become primarily walking sticks and canes and toppers in the last few years. These are some of my resent efforts.

I enjoy making sticks and canes most of all. The stick is Aspen wood. The cane is Walnut the handle has a ebony stained.

Your guess would right. At least 1/2 the time. I considered using a stain but the basswood board I used was glue up. The contrast between the two brads would have much more notable than it is.
