Mick I know those bars wouldn't do much in a crash, they more or less protect the bike if it falls over in a parking lot or like wise. They are made by Wunderlich.

Built a simple bench out of a Douglass Fir top, apron and drawer fronts. The rest including legs of 3/4" Baltic Birch plywood. Does the job.

Very nicely done, great job.

I will try and figure out how to orient the pictures next time.
