Well, to be honest, didn't go for that one, really... Got a bit confused as their blades are 300mm and 250mm, whilst my saws go by 305mm and 254 mm... For now sticking to the original...

Mate, spot on! Returned the spring in, just in case, then had a closer look - the leaver was loose. Removed the plastic part, tightened the nut a bit, now works like a charm!

After removing the spring the lock lever is completely loose.. Not locking anything. Have I missed something when removing the spring?

yes, that will take care of a thinner side. In my case I would need to trim it on the wide side as well... the jig won't help it, unfortunately. :(
