    I believe walnut oil is safe after it dries but it is a nut oil. I use pure Tung oil on boards and utensils but wait about 3 months for it to dry properly and harden. It then lasts a long time.

    I use Tung oil but it takes about 3 months to cure. But once it has there is no smell and its a very durable finish. ( think Great Wall of China )

    I have a Makita Jigsaw and using Bosch blades cutting hardwood about 30 to 50mm thick and the blades are blunting it seems very quickly.
    Is the wood to thick or do I need better blades ?
