Gunn, the step down fitting on the hose on the vac is aboud 40mm OD, so it fits straight into the rubber fitting nice and tight. The ruber fitting are a stadnsd size but they have a 38 & 50 mm pipe...

The wood is camphor laurel, the finish is Luxseal...
The wood is camphor laurel, the finish is Luxseal sanding sealer, the top coat is Luxlac 60%. I use a no 2 blade and a 2/0 for the fine work.
