Actually the table is pressed steel welded together rather than cast. Chief Tiff may have been more accurate with his tongue in cheek comment than he thought. 2.5mm pressed steel but so maybe not....

As you can see the drilling bench table is more than a tad out of square. While this is easy enough to shim up it is a little annoying.:~

Bicarb converts superglue from a Non-gapfilling glue to a gap filling glue. Sprinkle enough bicarb into gap between wood and hex bit to fill hole (used masking tape to keep from leaking out)....

A small off cut, a worn screwdriver bit.
Three 8mm holes in a row - the middle one all the way through the outside ones 10mm deep, a bit of chiselling and whittling a bit of superglue and bicarb...

This plane is perfect for beveling thin strips and tidying up form edges.
