I use CA mostly. Sanded to 12000g with Micro mesh...
I use CA mostly. Sanded to 12000g with Micro mesh pads then Autosol Chrome polish and finally Brasso.
One issue I have had with the mango is tear out if your tools are not razor sharp.

I have had the same issue on one pen but with CA not lacquer. I haven't had the cracking along the pen but around it.

I hang all my kits on peg board mounted behind the lathe and bushes etc in small plastic draws.
One thing you have to watch if you do this is the ink refills can leak if upside down.
Works for me. -
