I have welded cast before, and had all knockers tell me it won't work..

One was the knotter arm on a Bamford hay baler.. I ground it and kept it warm, not hot, and then welded it up with WIA 140G...

Splinter, with the price of the welder/gen sets, you could buy one that will weld and produce power without the headaches..

I have a small stick welder, and you need a fair bit of grunt to start...
