haha sorry I thought I had already posted the...
haha sorry I thought I had already posted the finished box but apparently not.
but after lots of sanding up to 400 grit I finished it with grape seed oil.
mum was really happy with it on mothers... -

the block of red gum
last night I glued up the offcuts to make a substantial block of wood.
I used epoxy to glue them because I did not want the two pieces to break apart. :2tsup:
I think that the grain looks beutiful... -
