I never had one but from the reviews I've read, milwaukee saws are somehow pretty reliable and solid. There are no distributor of their saws in Au?

I normally use 1/4" 6 TPI band saw blade for cutting curves ansd 1/2" 3 TPI blade for general cutting/resawing.

The amount of talent shown in this piece is blatently obvious. I like the wood choice and details are superb!

I never had a power hack saw but I have a band saw in my shop and I mostly use it for most cutting work from cutting angle, bars, stainless steel to small structurals.

The deepest part of the gullet should be in the center of the tire. It works on me all the time.

Does it have cast iron wheels?

I'm from US and we have lots of good suppliers for replacement parts. You try to check ebay, they have wide selection of band saw tires.

I am using urethane band saw tires, I didn't glue it down but it works well. Maybe you need to glue down your tires.

TPI should depend on how thick the material are you cutting . I usually use 3 TPI blade for 5" stock.

I'm not familiar with Meber band saws, I like vintage big saws but I'm thinking $800 is too much for it .

If you hire movers, I'm sure they'll find a way on how to put the bandsaw safely on your garage.

You also have to think on how long you've been using this band saw. You said you have this for 15 years. Tools value depreciate. Newer models with more features are available in the market today....

Can you still recall the original price of your band saw? I was thinking you can sell the band saw for about 50-80 percent of the original price.

The wood on a metal cutting bandsaw is totally fine. You can even just use a metal cutting blade. Make sure after cutting, clean down everything. Saw dusts are messy and could mix with the...

Try Carbatec Band saws, they have very nice solid saws and price is reasonable.

For beginners, 14" band saw with 12" resaw capacity is a "good to go" machine! Smaller band saws work better with
narrower blades on compared to bigger saws. On the other hand, bigger band saws...
