I would say that unless you make yourself a set of bushes out of hard but very light coloured wood you are always going to have some contamination as metal filings from sandpaper are most probably...

I have a bit of a problem in as much as the top of a side board I recently made from Maple keeps warping and lifting up at one corner. Its actually quite bad and raises about 8 mm above... -
Beware Camphor never stops moving
Its sad to say that such a lovely timber that is also so easy to work is so prone to expansion and contraction that it's always on the move. So just watch out for that one -
