VHT used to do a clear gloss nitrocellulose laquer in a spraycan.

Glue it on as is, then use a hacksaw blade to CAREFULLY cut just above your carved top
all the way around and tidy up...

I used 19mm meranti and stained it using a red water based aniline dye, and finished it with Protecs precat...

I used water based analine dyes
