My thoughts also. One of the saws that inspired this was one called a patternmaker's saw. That one was smaller, finer teeth, high hang angle and I assume a thin plate.

It looks like he's got the later, two piece stamped yoke. Those can be bent around quite a lot. If it's the older, cast iron type they're pretty fragle.
