So they cannot sell the RF46101 with the soft...
So they cannot sell the RF46101 with the soft shackle anymore because of copyright issues.
They can sell the one with the metal shackle...it costs about 3x as much!

Clint's Box Boom
I cut parts to and glued the ladder frame Friday. The boom will be ~55x87 done with Eastern White Spruce staves and 1/8" Okoume ply with doublers in a couple spots.

Please note: I am no longer making homemade ply hatches for my tank tops but using the Bomar hatch, screw in types and locating the hatches on tank tops rather than bulkheads. Keep an eye on those...

No problem with grain orientation in the wedges? It seems like the wedge would be quite weak because the long edge grain is perp. to wedge.

Mast boots
I made a first attempt at fashioning canvas mast boots for my main and mizzen. The fit was not great, my geometry was off, and the canvas was too stiff.

Had a glue failure in the aluminum tube used to seal off the mast step area from the fwd tank, so I have re sealed it. Lost the ability for the tube to drain though. Making canvas boots for the masts...

One of the things I think about with crossed hands is that the seat height and gunwale/oarlock height relationship is key. In Drake, where I sit low and the locks are pretty high for knee clearance...
