Suggest your minimum spec lathe be a midi a bench top one is OK a skew,bowl gouge ,spindle gouge,parting tool are the minimum but better to buy singly of better quality rather than a set of cheap...

I turn with both hands,with skew or gouges,once learned y,ou do it unconsciously and find that the workflow is smoother.It does take practice but well worth it.Skews are no different or difficult to...

More random thoughts......my shed setup is the stupid tablet they (telstra) give you .not much good for anything but stick a SD card in it with a few thousnd 320 mp3s in it and it's not bad.

also there seems to be quite a bit of interest from the states i e JP Neff etc. about availability of the Aussie oil .been giving good reports about it and so had Guillio.Do you have a distributor...

you might want to consider replacing the flip top cap which keeps getting clogged up ,especially the Glow Neil

Use the same type pf cutting compound i.e.t-cut,kitten. ,polyglaze etc. on the lathe to friction polish it. It doesnt matter as long as you watch out for the silicone component and be care full not...
