cool token, have one that looks the same dated 1930 used on the St Kilda pier - Melbourne.

great looking old saw, weird setup for tracking, is the leaver sprung loaded or does it slide up & down to ingage.

nice collection :U I'd post em in lots on the market place - marples chisel set - jap chisels - planes one at a time - spoke shaves - ETC, think you'd get the best price that way or just bung em up...

Doggie love the marples too :U the last owner had ground it on both sides so I had to take off 5mm to get a nice cutting edge back on it + cleaned up a mushed socket top to :).

marples 2 inch socket chisel, spent a few hours on the blade to get it usable, not happy with the first attempt on the handle though.

Doggie got a question for ya - did titan come out with a full set of socket chisels ? been trying to put a set together but man there hard to find & I've never seen a full set any were, I rarely come...

it's a good site Robson valley, I collect tikis & have carved a couple for my kids sandpit area.


a better option for you is maybe paper mache or fiberglass - will cost heap less + weigh a lost...

hit the Wantirna market on Sunday & picked up a handfull of cheep chisels - three titans & no name Shefield + these two - a keenkutter socket from the states don't see to many of those floating round...

unsure but most likely using a claw hammer, blades were covered in a thick layer of paint so were preserved quite well.

been real quite lately -only 1 sash clamp 1 titan chisel & three old G...

take up metal detecting I've sold off over 100kgs over the last few years - mostly sinkers & lead sheeting off boats.

getting lead is not a problem as I find quite a bit in one of my other hobby's, will tube cast an ingot then drill out the mallet then seal it in with glue, to easy.

Robson Valley - it's around 375g so not to heavy, the brass one is just under 700g so I'll most likely need to make a bigger mallet as I intend to do...

this is my first attempt at turning a caving mallet :), made from redgum & feels nice in the hand, been setting up for some carving projects & sprung on the pfeil brass mallet but couldn't justify...
