Sounds like something from a restaurant that serves up timber dishes!. Except for the cedar.

Brazilian Walnut has quite a distinctive smell, also Stinkwood (Ocotea bullata).
Wild Olive has a wonderful scent when being worked.

And how could we forget rasberry jam and all those other desert acacias that have fruity, vanilla type smells.

I milled a chinese cedar (toona sinensis) a few weeks back and it smelled of green freshly sliced onions. Keen to see how the timber seasons. Very yellow

Must be a love it or hate thing - has to be my absolute favorite scented timber but my son can't stand it either! One of the scented boxes I turned for my New York client is Guttapercha and she tells me it has become her favorite and has ordered two more! - I would love to head up the gulf to get a decent pile of it one day - probably only have enough left for the 2 boxes at this point
