Those last boards are stunning. They could be wall hangings on their own. I'd much prefer to look at those than a painting any day!

Recently picked up this parcel - Premium Camphor Laurel for Box/Guitar making - that I bought off Camphorman, whoops Mapleman. Once I got it home I couldn't resist having a bit of a look at what I had. I chose 6 pieces including one book matched pair and a triple page book match, well not really, but close enough for me.
Hit them with the scrub plane then put them over the jointer, then the ROS with 60 grit and 120 grit and the attached pictures show the results. Still a bit of tearout to deal with - wish I had a spiral head jointer/thicky - but to say that I'm pretty happy with my purchase is an understatement.
Thanks Chris, more power to you.

Thanks David
Must say they have scrubbed up a treat
A lot of what i have milled thus far is as pretty as anything that i have milled in the past 25 years
Lovely color and figure and seems to slice like fresh baked bread
This stuff has it all
Cheers Dave for the positive response and pics...much appreciated...MMMapleman

Can it get any better Chris? We are marvelling with every shot you take but there seems to be no end to the beauty you are exposing. It is certainly worth the effort to keep going!!!
Just do it!
Kind regards Rod

Mapleman, is the stump timber more dense than the trunk? Have you pre-sold the stump timber to anyone?
