end grain cutting boards

I was wondering if there is any reason that I couldn't make endgrain cutting boards from silkyoak? I have copious quantities of southern silky, so the grain is very tight and have made a sample to see if it would be robust enough and it seems that it is. So the question would be, is there any toxicity in the baord that would prevent me from using it?

I wouldn't use Silky Oak for chopping boards or any foods utensils unless it is fully sealed with a skin like two pack or plastic coating.

Reason for this, is that it is a known timber for severe allergy reactions.

Yes I agree. Do not use. The same reason applies for blood wood
