Sydney Tool Sale and Swap, August 16th.
Just to keep everyone up to date with the upcoming sale.
Strathfield Men's Shed. 28 Pomeroy St. North Strathfield. (Homebush)
Sunday August 16th. 9am to 1pm. $8 entry.
This is shaping up to be a very good sale. Lots of sellers with heaps of tools.
I guess there is a bit of pent up enthusiasm as 2008 was the first year since 1986 that this sale wasn't held.
Lots of sellers from NSW plus a couple of the guys from way back will be travelling over from Adelaide with 6 or 7 tables of goodies.Haven't heard from the Melbourd mob yet and the WA and ACT guys just turn up.
All up there will be over 40 tables with the best variety ever.
A lot of engineering stuff this year as well as endless woodworking gear.
Broad axes, calking irons, collector planes of all types and sizes, user tools at great prices, chisels of all kinds by the hundreds. The 'out of woods' stuff is what gets me.
You never know what you will find.
If you have any enquiries please give me a ring on 02 9744 7875. Anytime.
(I'm off work for the next week recovering from a minor op).
No tools for sale yet, they are all kept untill the day,do have some timber though.
Still trying to clear out my 'shop, boards and slabs, local and exotic.
I will place an ad later in the apropraite section.
Come to the sale and check out the timber in the afternoon. I live nearby.
I am the guy who has been running this sale since '86.
Thank you all for supporting the sale over the years
Henry.

Thanks for the heads up. Might be able to come out there on the Sunday. Would there be a place for tag a longers that do not want to go inside?

Outside?
Hi,
Nothing happening outside. All the tools will be on tables in the hall.
The public won't have access to the sellers carpark for safety and security reasons.
Unless you are planning on being in the hall there is no point in coming.
Thank you for your interest.
H.

Looks like I might have to come on my own, and drop off the tag alonger somewhere.
I know I will be in a bit of trouble, gives me a little time to work out a plan.

Christos,
Sorry I misread your meaning I think.
In the past when I ran this on my own and had smart empathetic people manning the door, spouses and children who were not tool freaks were welcolme in for nothing.
This year I have the local tool club (TTTG) assisting with the sale and they will be manning the door.
I will raise this issue with them and get back to you.
Regards Henry.

Thank you for that.
Still gives me time to organize something else if things are not ok. I have looked at Google to see what is around the area that could be of interest.
Stratfield Shopping plaza could be dangerous, they could be gone for the day.
Homebush Bay could be better option, only so many plants to look at.

George Street Homebush has "the Bakers Quarter", the old Arnotts site, cafes, shops etc. At the Pmatta Rd end. Literally around the corner from Pomeroy St. Also Rhodes shopping centre is not far away.
cheers, billy

Thank you for that information. You might be able to tell that I am not from that area and when I do have to go somewhere I normally just drive pass. After a while one suburb looks like the last.

Thanks Billy.
I was at the 'shed yesterday and Jim suggeted the DFO.
'Direct Factory Outlet' which is only about 200 metres away towards the Olympic site.
There is also the Bicentennial Park which now has quite a lot of growth over the origonal sparce site it was on its establishment.Especially the boardwalk thru the mangroves.Weather permitting.
