    Default new motorcycle ?

The RZ250 was euthenased the other week so I'll have to get myself another bike. I'm thinking about a hyosung GT650 naked. Looks reasonably cheap and not absurdly fast (brother in law died in motorbike crash).
Just wondering if anyone owns one or has any other recommendations?
    cheers

i had a work mate who owend a 250 hyosong it seemed fairly reliable but was very under powerd he broke a clutch cable while still under warranty and the dealer was trying to get out of fixing it untill i went down there on his behalf and i had it sorted out the same day he treated that bike preety bad and it didnt let him down , i think they use yamaha motors dont they so thats a good selling point
only negatives i have is the name hyosong just sounds crap hehe
    enjoy

    you good for the loan?
Apparently they share technology with suzuki and the engine is almost the same as the SV650. I had read about the clutch cable being a little dodgy, but they may have fixed it with the 2010 model. It's a transport bike more than anything and the price was great and two year warranty sealed it.
Just gotta wait while we get the bank to give me more money. might be 2 weeks

well they mention carby problems, so that's an earlier model, as the 2010 is EFI. But you read stuff like that about everything, cept maybe ducati or something else that I can't afford.
It may be a problem that the dealer is on the sunshine coast, 12 odd hours away, , but they seemed good on the phone and my kung fu school has affiliates near there

I've got a ducati: most riders will agree with the ducati motto:
Ducati, making mechanics out of riders since 1946.
    (you better believe it.)
    Wouldn't have anything else though.

Have a look at the new Royal Enfield if you want something a little different and reasonably priced. I've had an Electra for about 3 years now and while I don't do a hell of a lot of klm on it, it has been as reliable. Plenty of low down power. Nothing like a 500 single I reckon. The latest one has EFI and is cheap to run. The build quality is good, except for the Indian chroming but then again, I have seen some pretty shabby Hyosungs that are not very old.

thanks, I bought the hyosung. Dont get it until the 21st though, which sucks. I also booked a qride course to upgrade my licence and the bloke told me he had been impressed with the hyosungs.
I'll post a pic when it arrives.

Lifes choices GM don't forget photo's when it arrives.

Passing along Putty Rd yesterday and watching all the sunday riders giving their bike the weekly run was neat. Then to arrive at Windsor to find the Motorbike Restoration Show in full swing in the main street. Sorry just time for a quick drive through stop for lunch and final drive home so no photo's.

never been able to make a choice before really, 7 years of being a very unproductive member of society limits your choices for a while after that.
Did the Qride course today on this kawasaki ER6 and if my bike is anything like it I'll be over the moon.
