    Default Hot Glue Gun

    Hi Everyone,

Is there any use for a hot glue gun in general woodwork.

    Regards Arnie!

Yes. Temporary joints, also building a dam around areas where you're filling with casting resin, and if you're building a mock up that just has to be tacked together.

Hmmm... I'd have never thought of using it for damming resin.

I often use it for temporary fixtures though.
I may be weird, but I'm saving up to become eccentric.

I have a hot melt glue gun and had it for some time but have never used it.
    Reality is no background music.

Like Skew, I often use it for temporary jigs and fixtures. Like flattening a wide twisted board using a planer.

for keeping the pegs on a peg board in place so they don't fall out every time you lift a tool off the board

I use it for attaching strings of Fairy lights to the tile ridge capping at Xmas.

Temporary joints is the main thing.
I use it extensively to glue rails to the side of wide boards to stabilise them while thicknessing when the jointer is too narrow.
Dam walls is a good idea.

I use one when wiring trailers, garages etc, it keeps the wires in place. Also temporary glue ups as noted above.

    Default Hot Glue Gun

Use it to keep ropes in place if you are using rope for decoration.

I also make cat scratching posts with the rope glued on with hot glue and it seems to last with no problem.
