Top Coat/Skim Coat Newbie questions
Hi all,
I've done some rendering using cornice cement direct onto some brick wall surfaces and now plan to apply a skim coat over. Read on this forum some tips to use top coat for the skim coat. Went to Bunnings but got confuse as to what product to pick up. Saw a Gyprock Pro-Lite 15L AUD38.73 and Total Coat Lite 15kg AUD72.73 premixed in a large tub.
Will the Pro-Lite do? Any other to recommend? I'm in Perth.
How thick should I lay the skim coat?
How long to leave to dry before painting?
I would assume I'd need to painr an undercoat? Oil based?
Thanks in advance.
