Default Carba-Tec 36 piece router bit set

I have only just bought a router and have won a set of 36 1/4 bits on a FleaBay auction for $114. They are in a box with removeable wooden holders. Under the lid and on the shank of the bits is engraved Carba-Tec. They look like a nice set and in new condition. Only one or two bits look like they have been used. Carba Tec don't seem to sell these any more so I don't know if I got a good buy or not.

I don't know much about routing or bits, but someone recommended I steer clear of the cheapie bits. Does anyone know anything about these?

    Well Bruce,
You have picked up this set for about $3 a router bit.
The current prices for CarbaTec individual 1/4 inch bits start at $25 and go up to around $70 each Let's say average price of $45.
    Now $45 x 36 = $1620

Yes I'd say that $114 was probably good value.

    Thumbs up

Good buy. But still take it easy with them and they will serve you well.

Hmmmmmmm, use them and post back review if you can .
I did regret to buy budget router bit 'set' as they usually low quality, and I ended up only use few of them.
Carba-tec is a reliable brand, I hope you don't fall in the same situation that I had.
