    Default Spalted Hazel

Something else I came by from a friend was this piece of Spalted Hazel. It was too good to 'Just turn a bowl' - so it sat in the workshop until I figured what I was going to do with it.

Another friend gave me an old mahogany church pew. When I saw the two together I decided on my first ever display piece.

Difficult to see in the photos but the lid follows around the curve of the bowl when you look through the rim.

    Thumbs up

I suspect the Dr4gonfly is pretty pleased with that, and so he should be.
