Sorry floody mistake made I see it is dadovfor having a go at Andy.
Yes floody, the logs are well and truly dry.
As for this log should be dry soon, gee you are having a go at Andy today he is hiding behind this tree, I hope he realizes once I sharpen this little chainsaw down it comes.

Great pics Bob ... keep 'em coming. I'll be especially interested to see them being milled to usable pieces.
But that off-sider of yours looks like a no-hoper!?!?

G,Day Sebastiaan,
Hard to say what that yield will be on each log, you dont really know till you start breaking it down, you have to watch out for things like rot in old trees.
Bark intrusions Etc, on average 3 cubic metres of log you get 1 cube of quality Timber if all gos well.
Take the Myrle log photo posted, I got 2 large billets of pure burl that I had sliced into 0.6 veneer, many quarter saw guitar blanks now in Scotland and Germany, lots of book matched drop tops, few nice billets I have put away.
I payed $8,000 for that log a high price, but worth it.
I will post another photo shortly of a reception desk using some of the veneer.
Cheers,Bob

This is of interest, Leo Chaplin one of the old time loggers from over 50 years ago, he is about 75 years old here but he used to like coming into the bush with me for a bit of fun a chat and to smell the bush again.
Pictured here chainsawing slabs off the stump' of a high figured eucalyptus,
