    Default Something for Mum

Mum's appointed hour may be in the relatively near future, who can say? So I thought I would construct an urn for her ashes, which will be buried beside her late husband.
I have made it from Huon pine and Kwila and added some photos to the end of my photo album here:

    I hope she likes it.

    Cheers

That's beautiful Mic! I'm sure your mum will love it

Your gallery is spectacular. Love that little hand carved horse out of Jacaranda... very nice.

    Cheers,
    Dave

    Mate,
your work is fantastic, if you're thinking of selling any of the figurines ( the horses) pm me as my wife will love them. There's a big market for your work as they make great gifts.

The urn box is great, and the other items in your gallery were a treat to view.

Great album Mic and thoughtful planning on your part for your mother's "time".

    G'day Michael,

Great, just one thing how did you get that effect on the finger joints?

    Hi Jack,
The end grain just naturally takes on a darker hue, no special effects. I used Feast Watson Floor seal btw.

Default The end of the story

Yesterday we made a visit to the cemetery to inter Mum's ashes. A peaceful place with a nice outlook and definitely the weirdest place my woodwork has ended up.

    Cheers
