well thanks for all the suggestions in dealling with truestone

i drilled slowly with a little bit of water, no problems at all
i turned the lathe down a notch and treated it as i would have unstabilized buck eye burl
was like cutting butter

Mik you have chosen the kit well. Not too blingy for that blank. Fit and finish are spot on from where I sit.
