Camphor Laurel slabs
Thought you might like to see some pics of the camphor laurel that I have been slabbing this week. They were big logs and the widest slab was 1470mm and most around the 1m mark. I hit 2 nails but there was no saw damage. Only negative was the smell. Cutting camphor is a bit on the nose.
cheers
Steve

Absolutely stunning slabs. Awesome grain, I am a little surprised at the lack of colour given the size though. I am used to seeing stronger reds and browns

Like 'em. Seems that Dorrigo is the ideal climate and soil region for great looking timber.
Willy, I think the photos may not be the best in terms of colour representation. No offence to Stopper's photographic skills., but I am willing to bet they are not true to colour.
