    Default TSC-10HB Sliding table

I have decided to emulate those inovative woodies that have added a Triton sliding table to the TSC-10HB tablesaw. My problem is how to attach the bracket jig to the table. When I got my tablesaw it came with the router wing which does not have the pre-drilled holes on the outside as I believe the previous wing did. I am faced with the choice of removing the left wing and losing about 350mm of room to the left of the blade or drilling holes in the wing edge of the table. The idea of drilling into my expensive tablesaw frankly scares the hell out of me. Any tips on how to do this with a minimum of risk?

    Pete.

When I did mine, I pre-drilled the holes in the bracket then clamped the bracket to the side of the tablesaw wing and used the holes as a guide for drilling.

As the wings are cast iron drilling is very easy.

Thanks for that Fred. Guess I'll give it a go. After all, what could go wrong?

Yeah don't worry too much about drilling the holes. If you need them there, you need them there!

I have drilled into my cast iron tables a few times, i.e. on my table saw once, on my bandsaw to fit a fence, and on my router table too.

Make sure you have a top quality drill bit to use. Either Sutton or P&N brand in HSS. The first time I tried with some no-name bit and the flutes of the drill bit were ground down to a cylinder before I even knew it LOL!

Also, take it slow and use a good drilling oil as lube, or normal machine oil (like singer oil) will also work well - that's what I used.
How much wood could the woodchuck chuck if the woodchuck could chuck wood?
