Woodturning is Wheelie Great Fun!
Had the honour of teaching my first wheelchair bound woodturning student last week!
Needless to say, the woodchips have done their work and she is well & truly HOOKED!
I have modified the legs on one of the DVRs to be adjustable through quite a range.
Can set it for a shortie on a low wheelchair to a seven foot giant!
Much safer than using ramps & platforms and gives access to all parts of the lathe. Allows better body positioning for each planned cut.
Have a couple of pics for you to see how it was done.
I will be domonstrating at the Trend Timbers stand at the Sydney Woodshow (not with this stand tho). Would love forumites to come & say hi!
Cheers
Peter

Good design, I like the locking screws on the legs, good idea. . We have a few wheelie turners in the forum who would find this useful.

That's pretty cool. I could possibly do that with my small lathe but my big one weighs too much. I would need a hydraulic lift to raise and lower it.

Peter sorry just found this even after the heads up.
That is excellent plenty of room to move and not a lot of steel to transfer the colder during these few months.
She looks hooked for sure.
Will call at the stand and chat
