Retro fitting stacked Dado Blade
Hi All,
Hope your all doing well and enjoying your projects.
I have a carbatec MJ2325CT table saw and I have been informed by Carbatec that this unit will not take a stacked dado set.
Im not sure what the exact limitiation is. Im assuming
a) Arbor length in sufficient
b) Arbor is 30mm and may need to be reduced to 5/8" (15.88mm)
c) throat plate too narrow (though this is normal when using a dado set)
Does anyone see a way that this could possibly work ? perhaps adapters, new arbor etc

Hi Marct
Looks like you have a saw speced to EU standards that do not allow the use of Dado blades.
To prevent the use of a Dado blade they keep the arbor shaft short, so there is only room for a single blade and the nut....bad luck.
Cheers

It's one of those things you really need to check before you buy your saw
You will probably find that the arbor is too short to take a dado blade of any significant width. You could probably mount the two outer blades and possibly one chipper.
It is possible to get an extension arbor for some saws, but I imagine Carbatec would tell you if that was the case for yours. Your only other option would be to have a new arbor made by an engineering shop. I think your better option if you really want to use a dado blade is to sell the saw and buy one with a longer arbor. But most of the things you can do with a dado blade you can do with a router anyway. Or a single blade in multiple passes."I don't practice what I preach because I'm not the kind of person I'm preaching to."
