    You'll miss out on the Working with Wood Show.....Bummer.
    I hope you have a secure place for the party with a small number of guests Scotty,
    I don't want you to have "five minutes" of TV fame for the wrong reason.
    Anyways, be safe, enjoy the celebrations.
    Looking forward to the next WIP photos.
    Cheers, Crowie

    Default Checking up on a mate

    G'Day Scotty,
    I put thispost in the wrong thread;
    it should have been in this one "Ratrod".
    Still I was just wanting to check on how you're travelling and hoping that all is well with you.
    Cheers again, crowie.
    =============================================================
    I've been watching for an update on your "Hot Rod" but haven't seen anything for a long time.
    I know you had a work accident but I thought that you'd recovered from that mishap.
    I remember you mentioned that work was busy in the "truck" thread posting.
    I've enjoyed watching your talanted imagination at work, thank you.
    Just hoping that all is well with you.
    Cheers, crowie

    Hi Crowie
    Alls well been busy at work sorting things out, got new partners coming on board, plus sons soccer and to cold to be out in shed. Still have to get out there and clean up and make room for metal lathe to fit in, been chasing aluminium to make a pulley for the motor and finally got that today so my friend can machine it next week and get it mounted and the lathe working. Now with the warmer weather and daylight getting longer ill be back out in the shed. It also looks like i will score myself a litre of that chrome paint ive been wanting to get, so i can get some of the models done with it.
    Ive also been busy searching for certian files that i said i will send you, which wont be far of now there about 850 meg of them so you will be quit busy when your on your feet again.

    Cheers

    Hi guys been busy around house trying to reduce the list the wife gave me. Over the past couple of days i manage to get some time in the garage and spend on the rod. I started by bending up the tunnel then the floor pan.Once they were cut and shaped and in position i started on the dashboard, with a bit of cutting and shaping i got it in place. Next i removed the old gear shift and bent up a new one and mounted then put a hole in the tunnel and trial fit it all.And then added the final touch to 8 ball to the shift.

    Your ears must have been burning Scotty,
    One of the blokes on the toy makeing forum mentioned that they hadn't seen your inspirational workmanship of late.
    Good to see you back in the shed making progress on a top project...

    Thanks Guys, got home tonight and went to the shed and started on the dash. Had to strip the vinyl off the metal then shaped up the glovebox, next i cut out the radio then the speedo and tacho. then the next fidally bits was the radio knobs and switches and the the glovebox handle. Once i had the all cut and trial fit i mixed up the epoxy and glued in position.
    Next i got some 50mm tube and cut out the steering wheel and started to file into shape.

    At first glance I thought you'd brazed the pieces in place, then I re-read your post which said you'd used epoxy.
    Especial with your talant to weld the thin sheet I'd thought you'd have used the oxy.
    How do you plan to finish the dash, Scotty?
    Cheers, crowie

    Sorry Crowie i dont have oxy so i have to compromise, and thanks for your comments nick. Tonight i got home and got out to the shed again and continued with the steering wheel, first i finished sanding the ring then i cut the hub and drilled then cut the arms and soldered in position. Then i trial fit the steering wheel.
