Smile Stake trucks I made 20 years ago

Here are a few photos of the many Stake truck designs I made a long time ago on the Atherton Tableland.
I'll have to get back to making them again.

    WOW!!!

What a feast of fun, not only for the lucky recipients but for the maker.
Are the plans easily found for me to make some (I will not be a threat to your sales) The main truck design is a good one
    Just do it!

    Kind regards Rod

    Default Stake Truck Plans.pdf

    Hi Rod,

The plans for the basic truck are right here in the forum, courtesy of member Diggerdelaney
then click the stake truck plans link, save to your download folder and then double click the downloaded pdf file.

As for the backs of the trucks the only plans are the pictures you see here. They are relatively easy to copy.
All the best with your endeavors.

    All good stuff.

I can definitely feel a bit of reciprocation coming on here

My wife keeps telling me to make more toys and I keep telling her I find it rather hard to let them go. I guess its the same with guitars and most other things, once you've made a few dozen, its easier to not get too attached to what you do.

What's this paying the mortgage bit anyway?

    Default Eumundi Markets Xmas 2012

What a day, oppressive heat and me with hardly any shade. But it was worthwhile going to the Eumundi markets.
Sold a few toys and my Spitfire
I hope to get back there again this Saturday.
I'm off to the workshop now to replace all the tree house furniture I sold.
It was very popular... GO figure. Toys made from sticks.
At the end of the Eumundi markets or the beginning 2012.jpgLast stall in is down the end or at the beginning depends where you're coming from .

Some fantastic toys you have there.

I don't think it matters where you are if someone wants one they will buy

Default Bush Furniture from the Movie "Escape from Absalom" - More pictures for the album.

Hello again, I though you all might like to see some more of the work I did a couple of decades ago. I got the job of building "Hero Props" for a Hollywood movie made on the Atherton Tablelands. These are a few of the larger items I made. My children posed with the props to give an idea of size. I was called on set a few times to repaire my work because the stunt men kept smashing my furniture in their fight sceens. I also got a job as an extra in the movie. Ray Leotta blew me up at the end of the movie and I died. It was a short but interesting film career.

The Movie set is on Lake Tinaroo and in the U.S. it was called "No Escape".
My work now has scaled down somewhat. My furniture is only 2 inches high now.

Well, you have just cost me a right rollocking from SWMBO until she realised what great toys I was studying. I spend too much time on this thing You aren't a toymaker, you are a one man toy factory mate!!

There are loads of wonderful toys in there. The castle that hides in the base. I made a very similar one for my son when he was 7. He's 37 now and I believe that my grandson has it?

I'm really glad that this thread was revived or I would have missed it.

Hey Cooroy, what an amazing thread! I came here after your Steiner inspired work to make for my daughter, but the whole thing has been a fascinating read...such amazing skills up there! :2tsup:

I think I might have a go at the castle-in-a-box too...did you ever get the dimensions on that one at all?

All the best mate, keep up the good work. :brava:
