Crowie is dead right about that Archer; you can't use it as a workbench.
You should really do the right thing and send it to me so that its rapid demise can be commenced without delay.
All jokes aside, it is truly a thing of beauty

Actually I'd like to see it too. It's covered in junk that i haven't got around to putting away yet. We eat in the lounge room

Thanks for the comments everyone. I'd really like to get this finished. I have a bluegum slab, that has been aclimatising for the last 3 years, that is going to be made into a desk with a natural edge. And I have a couple of commissioned boxes to do as well. Not to mention all the things I want to build just because I can or they look like fun.
So much wood working, so little time.
But I am happy with how the bench is turning out. It's been a great learning experience and a lot of fun to build.

That's it. I'm calling it. All over bar the shouting (application of a finish in this case).
I've finished off everything I need to do. There may be a few small adjustments as I use the bench but I think I have achieved what I set out to do.
I have a solid, flat work surface with multiple options for holding work. It's heavy, doesn't move when I plane on it, and I think it looks pretty good too.
I'm not happy with the face vice and I may change it for a better quality one down the track. I'll have to see how it goes.
Finish will be a mix of BLO, turps and varnish. I'll post some pics when its done.
Learnt a lot of new skills and most importantly, gained a lot of confidence to try different techniques.
Thanks to everyone who has offered advice and encouragement along the way. Hope I've inspired some other members to say "what the hell, if he can do it, i'll give it a go". And do a WIP. We all like to watch others work.
