New pricelist complete - wowow!
Attached you will find four spreadsheets documenting the new prices for our Group Buy of Colt drills. If you have “Macros enabled” in Excel you will be able to use the grey “Go To’ buttons at the top. If you use a Mac then your probably out of luck.
I have deleted all other spreadsheets, including the two I just posted. They are all here now, in the one post.
There are some new products:
Pendrills
extra sizes, and some drills in 250mm length
Countersinks
a new Vario CS which is a Drilling/Cs combo that takes different size drills and apparently has different size countersinking. Not sure how it works, but will find out.
Five monster countersinks in the 1090 range (heads from 40 to 80mm). Again, I don’t what these are for yet. Perhaps one of you may know by looking at the specs.
A very odd sounding 12mm diameter CS with no shaft. Eh?
Maxicut Forstners
A new 1081 range going up to 60mm diameter. Longer overall at 110mm, but a (much) shorter shaft, which can only mean that the head is significantly deeper for some reason.
I will email Juergen to learn the answers to all this and more.
Overall the prices are reduced by about 40%, which is excellent news. The Twinlands don’t seem to have reduce much, so I’ll have to look into that. I did note a few weeks ago that The Best Things in the USA were selling the Twinlands for almost as much as the Five Star brad points, so perhaps there has been a huge price increase, or perhaps there’s a vertical rooster with these particular prices. Currency conversion is as at April 5th from Google.
The Colt-tools.com website is being upgraded in mid-April. I haven’t checked it for a few days, but there has been no catalogue on there for some time. I’ll keep you posted.
WHAT I NEED YOU TO DO FOR ME PLEASE:
1. Download the new sheets and send me a PM with you order if is going to change (no problem there). I only want the 8 digit part numbers (one per line) and NOTHING ELSE, unless you want more than 1 of an item. Please do not include descriptions etc, I pretty much know them backwards anyway, and my software will pull out the info. When I have entered you stuff I will send you a PDF of your order for your confirmation.
2. When you send the PM I will need your private email address, delivery address (if you want the goodies), and your first & surname.
We will work out freight etc later when there is a clearer idea of the total order. The same applies to transfer of money. Please note: if you have not paid by the time the order is submitted you won’t be drilling any holes.
I would like to close this out in about two weeks. This will give the stragglers plenty of time to get their act together, but don’t leave it until the last minute because I will get overloaded. There is actually quite a deal of admin involved with this and I need very much to be able to spread the load, between now and two weeks time. Two weeks will also give other people who have not yet come on board plenty of opportunity to read up.
Furthermore, Juergen has a shight load of orders for Maxicuts in particular, and would like to know our order asap. I can send him an approximation in a few days (he’s helping us so let’s help him.
In other words – please keep your fingers out so we can make life easier for two people – Juergen and me!
Regards, Brett

Brett - this is a huge investment in your time to do this - thank-you.
At these prices I think I'll be throwing in a few Forstners, for the drill press I don't even own yet!
Any indication at this stage of what delivery times would be after the order is placed?
BTW - I'm using a mac, and the spreadsheets are working nicely.Last edited by Astrodog; 10th April 2011 at 12:11 AM. Reason: mac stuff

A couple of things I forgot in my rush to get solid (and liquid, and then gaseous) matter down my neck.
I would advise anyone who is ordering smaller size Brad Points (5mm and less) to get a spare or two. You may also want to change the bit in the ZeroMark Countersinks because the one supplied is quite short. And remember the harder the steel the more brittle it is. Small sizes are also trickier to sharpen, and at these prices.....
If your buying smaller size Twinlands, you may care to consider upgrading to Five Star. They may be three times the price, but we're talking about 75 cents as opposed to $2.20.
Stock up now because it is highly unlikely that these prices will ever be repeated.
That's all I can think of for now.
Astro: very wise, esp. considering the red bit. The grey buttons work for you to skip down?? I do all my Excel on a PC, but right now I'm on a mac, and it always wants to delete the macros or disable them (Excel for Mac 2008 version). Which version are you using?
No idea on times yet. FFLast edited by FenceFurniture; 10th April 2011 at 12:26 AM. Reason: Note to Astroboy

One question FF - have you accounted for GST in those prices?

You wouldn't have to would you as it is an international buy?

Packages of less than $1000 including freight attract duty & GST. Just as well our package/s will have an invoice for less than $1000 attached.

Is it possible to have every ones parcel mailed directly to them from Germany?
Thus avoiding one hugely expensive, taxman noticing parcel?
Or will this add way too much to the price?
Would said price be less than the GST imposed? The secret to creativity is knowing how to hide your sources.
